about

Through Kappa Delta Sorority's national philanthropy partner Prevent Child Abuse America, the Sigma Iota chapter at the University of Washington has forged a local partnership with Seattle Children’s Hospital. The members of our chapter strive to make a difference in the lives of our community’s children and families, working to prevent the tragedy of child maltreatment. Seattle Children’s Hospital Child Abuse Prevention Program focuses on prevention of infant abuse throughout Washington State. Abusive Head Trauma or “shaken baby syndrome” is a devastating but preventable form of abuse. Victims and their families are forever changed and the cost of caring for survivors far exceeds the price of prevention.Over the past eight years our Kappa Delta family members, friends, and alumni, along with Seattle Children’s Hospital staff members, have helped raise more than $500,000. We need your support to help spread education and practical solutions that guide, support, and encourage parents. Together we can help equip parents with tools to weather the storms of parenthood, strengthening individual families and the greater community.

At the 2021 auction you can look forward to a special guest speaker, inspirational stories, an exciting collection of auction items, and a fun night filled with family, friends, and 125 confident sorority women!
